What is the truth? This question we asked ourselves during an ICA teleclass entitled “truth vs fraud”.

Truth is relative to the person holding the truth. The ultimate truth does not exist. Sounds like Einstein. Having said that, I’d like to point out to you that this is only a portion of the truth.

Let me describe the chair I sit on to you: It has four legs, you can sit on it and it’s green. It’s all true, but it’s not the entire truth. I can’t give you the whole truth, because it’s impossible for me to give you all the ins and outs and the countless ways to look at it. Truth is always a perspective, a way to look at it. The chair looks different depending on where I am. When I sit on it and look down, it looks entirely different than when I go stand a few meters or farther away. So my description of the truth would change. Because other things stand out depending on perspective.

Also, I could mention things about the chair that are relative in itself. Relativity inside relativity :-) For example: The chair is small. I’m 2m06 tall. If someone is 1m69 tall, I find that person small.

Let’s move the perspective a bit :-) We go from a chair to a perspective on you. Others have opinions about you, tell you things concerning you, think about you a certain way. Taking the above in consideration, is this really as important as you thought up till now?
